The short version
Kelvin has no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no cookies on getkelvin.app. We collect the minimum needed to show a forecast and handle an optional purchase. We never sell your data.
Who we are
Infe LLC is the data controller for Kelvin (iOS and Android) and for getkelvin.app. Questions about this policy: support@getkelvin.app.
What we collect
We don't collect names, emails, or create profiles. We don't use advertising IDs or cross-app tracking.
When you use Kelvin we may process:
- Approximate location — only if you allow it or search for a city. We round it to about 1 km before requesting a forecast.
- City names you search for
- Purchase information for Kelvin Pro (handled by the App Store / Play Store)
Our website getkelvin.app uses no cookies and no tracking scripts.
How we use location
We use your approximate, rounded location solely to fetch your forecast from Apple WeatherKit, our weather data provider. We don't store precise coordinates, link them to your identity, or share them for advertising. If you deny location permission, you can still use Kelvin by searching for cities.
You can turn location off at any time in your device Settings. In the EEA/UK this is based on your consent, which you can withdraw by disabling location.
Purchases
Kelvin Pro is sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Payments are processed by Apple or Google — we never see your card details. To verify what you've purchased and let you restore it on other devices, we use a third-party purchase verification service acting on our behalf.
Data stored on your device
Saved locations, cached forecasts, and preferences (units, theme) are stored only on your device. They are not uploaded to our servers. Deleting the app or clearing its cache removes them.
Sharing
We share the minimum necessary with service providers to run Kelvin. We do not sell data or share it with advertisers.
- Apple WeatherKit — to provide forecasts (receives your rounded location)
- Apple / Google — to process and distribute purchases
- Purchase verification provider — to manage your Kelvin Pro entitlement and restores
Retention
Forecast requests are not stored. On-device data stays until you delete it or uninstall the app. Purchase records are kept by the app stores per their policies.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your information.
- Disable location in system settings to stop location use.
- Remove saved locations or clear the cache in the app.
- Uninstall the app to delete all local data.
- Manage or cancel Kelvin Pro in your device's subscription settings.
For any request, contact support@getkelvin.app. We respond within 30 days. If you are in the EEA/UK you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Children
Kelvin is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information and we will delete it.
Security
We use HTTPS and keep data collection minimal to reduce risk. No system is 100% secure, but storing less in the first place is the best protection.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new date. Continued use after an update means you accept the changes.
